Wilson TuckeyWilson Tuckey has been a fixture on the national political scene for a quarter of a century. His record of public service spans 40 years.

Wilson commenced his self employment in small business whilst still at school and graduated through retail grocery to his third hotel ownership by the age of 23. Whilst operating his hotel in Carnarvon, he extended to additional hotels, a shopping centre, caravan park, earthmoving and transport.He also served on the local shire from 1964-79.

His electorate of O'Connor covers nearly 200,000 sq km, almost equalling the State of Victoria.

Wilson Tuckey has served as Minister for Forestry and Conservation, Minister Assisting the Prime Minister and the Minister for Regional Services, Territories and Local Governments. Wilson held numerous shadow portfolios during the Liberals' opposition years, being termed the opposition hit man, his clashes with Paul Keating being of special note.
